Nikiel, founder of Elevation Tutoring

Meet the founder

Hi, I’m Nikiel - the tutor behind Elevation Tutoring.

I’m a fourth-year Mechatronics Engineering and Computer Science student, and I started Elevation Tutoring because I believe many students are more capable at maths than they realise.

Growing up in the Canning Vale area, I attended Providence Christian College for most of my primary schooling and graduated from Carey Baptist College, Harrisdale. Being local, supporting students in this area truly means a lot to me.

Over the past four years of tutoring, I have seen that many students do not struggle because they are not smart. They often struggle because the explanation was rushed, a small gap was missed, or they lost confidence along the way.

That experience has shaped the way I teach. I slow concepts down, explain the “why” behind each method, and help students build confidence through clear, structured practice.

My engineering and computer science studies have also shown me how powerful strong maths foundations can be. Algebra, problem-solving, and logical thinking are not just useful for school tests - they are skills that will support students for years to come.

Our mission

Help students stop believing they are “just not good at maths.”

Many students simply need maths explained in a way that finally makes sense. Elevation Tutoring gives them a calm, supportive space to ask questions, practise properly, and rebuild confidence.

  • Build strong foundations before gaps get bigger
  • Teach understanding, not memorised steps
  • Give students structure, practice, and accountability
  • Help parents feel confident that their child is supported

The vision

Building confidence before maths becomes overwhelming.

My goal is to help students develop the foundations and problem-solving skills they need before high school maths becomes more demanding.

Strong foundations

Students need more than memorised steps. We focus on understanding the key ideas so they can apply them with confidence.

Confidence through clarity

When maths starts to make sense, students become more willing to try, ask questions, and participate in class.

Long-term thinking

Strong maths foundations support future study, problem-solving, technical thinking, and everyday confidence with numbers.

Teaching approach

We teach students how to think through problems.

Lessons are built around clear explanation, guided practice, feedback, and steady improvement.

Understand the idea

We begin with the core concept so students understand why the method works.

Work through examples

Students see the thinking process modelled step by step before trying it themselves.

Practise with support

Students attempt questions, make mistakes, ask questions, and receive guidance.

Build confidence over time

Consistent practice helps students feel more prepared for school lessons and assessments.

Who we help

For students who need confidence, clarity, or extension.

Elevation Tutoring is for families who can see potential in their child and want the right support to bring it out.

Students who are falling behind quietly

We help rebuild missing foundations before small gaps become bigger struggles.

Students who have lost confidence

We create a calm, encouraging environment where students can try again without pressure.

Students who are ready to be challenged

We extend students through deeper thinking and stronger problem-solving practice.
